5 things to do with the family over the Christmas holidays
Keeping your family entertained during the Christmas holidays can be a challenge. Coming up with ideas suited to everybody and keeping your children entertained at the same time is hard work. Here we’ve come up with a few ideas to help you out – good luck!
Over the next few weeks, pop up ice rinks will be appearing in every town in the country! You know it’s Christmas when you’re walking through your town centre to be greeted with lights, trees, carol singers and yes… an ice rink! Ice skating is fun all year round, but there’s just something about ice skating at Christmas which is exciting (probably been watching too many American films).
If you’re struggling with ideas for activities over the holiday’s ice skating is your perfect opportunity, not only will the kids love it… I’m sure you will too!
Visit Santa’s grotto
Nothing says ‘Christmas’ quite like taking the children to visit Santa in his grotto! It’s also a good heads up on what your kids are hoping to open on the big day!
Sure, it would be much better to hop on a magic reindeer to Lapland to see the big man himself, but visiting him in your local shopping centre is much easier (and cheaper).
Sledging (if possible)
There is nothing better than sledging round in the snow at this time of the year (if we get any!). However, with forecasts expecting us to get some of the white stuff this year – we had to add it in! Take the family sledging!
You could even make a day out of it. Take some hot chocolate in a flask and wrap up some sandwiches to refuel your energy!
Christmas movie marathon!
It’s winter, it’s cold, it’s dull (and probably raining). What sounds better than slouching on the sofa all day watching Christmas films with the family? It’s the perfect excuse for a lazy day!
Some personal favourites of mine are Elf, The Grinch, Santa Claus Movie, Christmas Carole or even have a Home Alone marathon!
Wrap yourselves up in blankets, slouch on your couch and enjoy doing nothing!
Channel your inner Mary Berry and get your bake on this festive season! Not only will your kids love getting involved, eating is one of the best parts about Christmas, right? Below we have listed some great Christmas baking recipes you can use this year! We’d love to see what you’ve made!
